Improvisation with 2 dance groups, live music and poetry written in the moment.
For the 12th ArtMan Eve the local team faces their colleagues from Vienna, A.D.A.M., another group of dancers with different abilities. The two teams enter a space without fixed forms or predictable movements. Spoken words trigger live sounds (Ernő Rubik), touch becomes movement, movement becomes dance — and dance returns to language. An unpredictable evening in which the audience becomes both receiver and amplifier of unfolding stories, before being invited to playfully entangle themselves. The outcome remains open.
In 2018 the ArtMan Association won the Special Prize of the most prestigious Hungarian professional award for contemporary dance, the Rudolf Lábán Award. A year earlier, in 2017, it was shortlisted for the Highlights of Hungary selection. Highlights of Hungary is a non-profit platform rewarding “outstanding Hungarian achievements” annually. This will be the 11th ArtMan evening at Trafó, featuring this contemporary dance community of mixed-ability creators and performers. In 2023 they premiered their highly successful performance, Idol in collaboration with Hodworks.
DanceAbility Association was founded in Vienna in 2006 after receiving DanceAbility training from founder Alito Alessi. They offer weekly classes and several weekend workshops, which end in performances. They founded the performance group Austrian DanceAbility Movement, known as A.D.A.M. which performs inclusive dance pieces for theaters.
