How are women’s bodies represented in theatrical spaces? And how do women relate to their own bodies today? More broadly: how, and in how many ways, can we connect with ourselves?

Witch Party is the closing event of Witch Club’s 2025–2026 season. Throughout the season, we organized gatherings for women’s communities around Trafó’s thematic focuses. Now we are taking over the entire building to bid farewell to the Witch Club with a more personal, intimate, and festive event.

The aim of this three-hour workshop is to collectively build a liberating, shared “witch party” through various body-focused exercises. Throughout the process, there will be space and time to connect with our own bodies, to turn our attention inward through guided meditation, to shut out the outside world, and to gradually connect with one another in a safe environment, letting go of inhibitions while reinterpreting familiar theatrical spaces and conventions.

During the event, you can participate in a singing bowl session led by Zita Thury, and then, with the help of various drama and movement exercises, we will collectively build our own choreography, which culminates in a witch’s party. At the same time, we invite you to join Attax, an experience created by Emese Cuhorka, either individually or in small groups, which lasts for half an hour and will be held in Trafó’s main hall. This immersive performance offers a private and safe setting where you can experience what it feels like to move around naked in a theatre space (participation is entirely optional). Afterward, we’ll return to the main hall, and the witch party will continue!

Whether you’ve already participated in a Witches’ Club or are just curious about it; whether you let loose easily on the dance floor or feel a bit nervous, but would like to experience letting go within the framework of a guided session, the Witch Party is waiting for you.

If you have any questions or special requests for the event organizers, please contact us at gondolatgenerator@trafo.hu

What is Trafó’s Witch Club?
The Witch Club is a pop-up creative circle and knowledge-sharing, self-development platform for women*, organised by Trafó’s outreach programme Thought Generator and connected to the thematic focuses of the current season. During each occasion, we form a temporary community, get to know one another and the aspects of the focus that matter most to us, and learn practical skills from invited experts. Over the course of the season, you can join the Witch Club on four occasions.

Participation is open to all people who identify as women, regardless of age, prior experience, sexual orientation, background, or social status.
