“If your friend limps to the right then limp to the left.” (Renard J, Journal, 1906)

Two circus artists, a musician and a technician met in 2006 at a resident program in the Pyrenees, and joined to create Ieto. The young artists proceeded to create their piece in 2008 which is driven by balance and timing, with twist of street dance thrown in.

Their characters are far from unfamiliar: the nervous and the peaceful or the grumpy and the simpleton – their acrobatic bickering provides the world of motion filled to the brim with life, which is clearly enjoyed by the two artists. What seems to be an amusement also consists of the mechanical, static knowledge, clever composition and above all the attention behind the range of motions devised with needle-fine precision. The triviality of acrobatics and balance is like a smack in the face. Make sure you don’t bite off your nails from all the excitement!
