TÁP Theatre presents

In Hungarian

”Welcome! My name is Dr. Miklós Pumánszky. I’m a dentist, but I like dealing with the rest of the brain too. I met Lajos five years ago during root canal treatment, but it turned out that the young man was in need of a far more complex form of assistance. I found an unchewed piece of food in his mouth, which was determined to likely be from last night’s dinner. He forgot about it. The human brain is often portrayed as a vessel which is filled with a growing amount of information during the course of our lives. Lajos’s brain isn’t a vessel. It’s more like a tube. We warmly welcome everyone interested in our experiments…”

The play was based on the author’s radio-play entitled I Have a Very Bad Memory, which was presented on Hungarian Radio.

“The company founded by Vilmos Vajdai and Győző Szabó more than fifteen years ago had its first performances in “Tilos az Á” (TÁP is an acronym for Tilos az Á Performance). The team has sworn to be open, to experiment with forms, to think in the genesis of theatre, to use not just dramatic, but literary, musical and artistic effects, along with modern stage craft and technology to enhance these effects.
