Zsuzsa Rózsavölgyi: Meduse

2400 HUF / Student: 1900 HUF
General Season Pass is valid
Twin Pass is valid

The choreography in ‘Meduse’ is built around the sensation of the body as a constantly changing environment, investigating the proposition of change and stability and how it manifests itself in ecological systems The choreographed homeostasis, dynamic equilibrium, and ‘flux of nature’ refers to environmental activist, author and deep ecologist Joanna Macy’s ‘greening of the self’ concept. How can humans shift from ego-self to eco-self? How can we begin to develop a sense of connectedness and compassion with other living forms on the planet? The piece takes place in the depths of the ocean, allowing one to see and feel the connection between the human body and other life forms. ‘Meduse’ envelops the audience with its meditative atmosphere, its powerful choreography taking them on a deep dive into empathy.

The performance is a new version of the Laban Prize-nominated piece ‘Old Pond’ by Zsusza Rózsavölgyi and Tóbiás Terebessy. The choreographer has now reworked the pulsating choreography with 21 dancers from the Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance (SEAD).
